Guest Experiences

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in capetown staying at the Auberge du Cap guesthouse this accommodation is truly amazing the views are spectacular and the service and standard of the property is excellent. The hosts Mike and Morgan made our stay an unfortgetable one as nothing was to much trouble they organised all our tours and restaurants. I will definetly return to this property on my next visit to capetown.

Our first time in Cape town was spent in this gem of a place.

I found Auberge du Cap by pure chance almost a year before our holidays and decided to contact the owners directly. Morgan replied and was really helpful with our booking.

The location is right at the top of Camps Bay (at the foot of the mountains) and offers some glorious views of the lions head, table mountain and of course the sea, but as mentioned in previous reviews the driveway is steep! If you're not in good health get a car, and this will make it a lot easier for you. We didn't mind, as it's just one compromise to get those stunning views. We didn't get a car for the first few days and booked uber a lot. It's very cheap here but works extremely well.

We stayed in the penthouse suite, which offers two floors and two balconies; one with 360 views- and wow- what a view! We watched the sunset over the sea on our last night from this balcony. The most amazing view you could imagine.
The room itself is spotless, cleaned thoroughly every day. Be prepared though, Cape Town is suffering from a water shortage at the moment, so each shower has to be under 2 minutes- this means that the lovely jacuzzi bath couldn't be used during our stay but it's all in the name of the environment!

Breakfast is always at 9 Local time, and offers a wide selection of cereal, bread, juice, yoghurt, and usually a hot option that is made fresh (scrambled eggs, quiche, fried eggs and bacon or mushrooms etc).

Mike and Morgan offered lots of help during our stay and even booked a table on our first night for us at a local pizza restaurant (Which was amazing). They will absolutely go out of their way to help their guests and have two furry helpers (their two gorgeous cats) to butter up the guests.

This place offers everything a first time (and returning!) traveller needs in Cape Town.

Room Tip: Penthouse suite offers the best views, and contact the hotel directly for the best rates.

We have just returned from another wonderful long stay at the fabulous Auberge du Cap.

We stayed in the Bordeaux Suite this time. It lived up to our expectations and for us this would be our preference. The suite is all on one level and the sun deck provided us with many peaceful hours lying in the sun. Bed linen and towels frequently changed. The bed was super comfortable.
Mike and Morgan provide a tasty breakfast. Fresh fruit, a frittata one day, choice of quiches the next and English on another along with fresh juices, breads, coffee etc. Which set you up for the day. You sit outside on warm days and see the amazing views.
On cold and wet days you sit with the other guests around a large dining table.
Mike and Morgan are a very friendly couple who suggest, recommend and ensure your stay is first class.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay in this area recommend you stay here.

“The best place we have stayed by far!”

Absolutely lovely service from the booking stage all the way through to check out. The hospitality was excellent and they went out of their way to make a special occasion just spectacular. I proposed to my now fiancé on the balcony of the accommodation and they put in a few surprises for her as well to make the whole day extra special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location of the apartment is conveniently situated close to Camps Bay beach and restaurants and the Table Mountain right behind. Absolutely a fantastic apartment, great hosts in Mike and Morgan, and we would book the accommodation again without hesitation. We highly recommend Auberge du Cap

Been to CT eleven times and stayed in lots of places. The Auberge is at the top for B&Bs/guest houses. All the rooms are fantastic but the bordeaux apartment was extra special, third time at the Auberge and each time has been great but this room beats them all...feels almost like your own apartment with views in every area including the bathroom but also has unrivalled privacy. Mike and Morgan strike the perfect balance of friendly helpful hosts but never intrusive creating a real feeling of being in your own pad! Love it

"Great stay"

Everything about this place is 5 star. Ok the drive is steep but a very small price to pay for the amazing views. Mike and Morgan were great. We stayed in the Penthouse suite. O my, the views - and that's just from the bath !! Have already started to save up to go back.
If you book, you won't be disappointed.

"Amazing views and Hospitality"
What at wonderful start to our holiday! Stunning views over Camps Bay and across to Table Mountain, whether from the roof terrace, breakfast room or bath (we stayed in the very spacious and comfortable penthouse). Mike and Morgan were welcoming from the moment we booked, and gave great recommendations for local restaurants and activities.

Camps Bay itself is stylish and relaxed, with a wonderful beach and mountain backdrop. Also easily accessible to the city centre, V&A, Table Mountain Cable Car via the hop-on-hop-off bus. The driveway is pretty steep, but just hold on tight and keep going and you'll be rewarded with a view which makes a fabulous first impression.

We can't recommend Auberge Du Cap highly enough, thanks for a wonderful stay.
Best B&B in 35 years of travelling the world
This was my wife and my sixth stay at the Auberge Du Cap and we cannot wait for the seventh. There is something special about this B&B which is more than just the amazing views across Camps Bay, the comfort of the Bordeaux room, the politeness and efficiency of the cleaning staff and unique owners Mike and Morgan for whom nothing is too difficult and whose company is never less than full of laughs and boundless energy. Its that whether you stay for one day or like us ten days, you feel like you're at home, not in somebody else's and you never want to leave. Long may it last and thanks again Mike & Morgan, I raise my glass to you both once more.
